Fires (Ages 14–18)
Freedom. Friendship. A space that belongs to them.
Fires is the final — and most flexible — stage of the Emberlin journey. Designed for young people aged 14–18, this group is all about choice, ownership, and community.
Led with the support of trained young volunteers and Emberlin staff, Fires gives teens a space that’s truly theirs: somewhere to chill, create, connect, and grow on their own terms.
What Happens at Fires?
At Fires, there’s no one-size-fits-all plan — because no two teens are the same. Each session is youth-led, meaning members decide what they want to do week by week. It could be:
Planning a spa night, games tournament, or themed hangout
Chatting over snacks and mocktails in a cozy, relaxed space
Organising a science week, fashion project, music night, or podcast challenge
Doing homework with friends in a chill, supportive environment
Hosting a nail bar or afternoon tea experience just for fun
Planning a community action day, weekend camp, or even an international trip
Whatever they choose, Fires is about giving young people a voice, a choice, and a safe space to be themselves.
Empowered by Peer Leadership
Fire sessions are guided by trained young volunteers who understand what it means to grow up in today’s world. With the backup of Emberlin staff on trips or events, Fire’s offers just the right balance of freedom and support.
Whether it’s stepping up to lead, supporting others, or just taking a breather, everyone is encouraged to participate in a way that feels right for them.
A Safe Space for Young Women (and Friends)
Fires is especially focused on creating a supportive space for girls and young women. Whether they want to talk, learn, rest or lead, Fires is a place to:
Build lasting friendships in a pressure-free environment
Explore identity, wellness, and creativity
Share ideas and try things they wouldn’t get the chance to at school
Feel heard, valued, and celebrated
And yes, snacks are 100% part of the plan.
Bigger Horizons: Camps & International Trips
Fires members can plan their own camps, sleepovers, and even international adventures — all supported by trained Emberlin staff. These opportunities grow independence, teamwork, and confidence, and are open to all members regardless of background or ability.
Why Fires Works
Fires is built on trust, freedom, and fun — with real support behind the scenes. It’s the perfect balance between "I need space" and "I still want to belong."
Parents love it because it:
Offers a safe, supervised space during the teen years
Fosters leadership, maturity, and responsibility
Encourages meaningful friendships and reduces isolation
Helps teens find their own voice — and use it
From Fires to the Future
Whether they go on to sixth form, uni, work, or volunteering, our Fires leave Emberlin with confidence, community, and unforgettable memories. And many come back as volunteers themselves — keeping the flame alive for the next generation.
This is more than just a club. This is where teens take the lead.
